Town Building and Facilities

bldg icon Town Office
The Town Office, located in the Town Building, is a workplace for Town officials and employees. There are posted office hours, and we request that citizens try to conduct their business with the Town during those hours. If necessary, a citizen may make a specific appointment for another time. The Town Office is not a copy center, but in an emergency black&white copies can be made during office hours for 25¢/page.

Notary Public Notary services are available during regular business hours, or by appointment.

Town Building The Town Building is also the Castle Valley Community Center, and is where public meetings for various bodies of the Town government are held. Grand County maintains a branch lending library, and various citizen groups use the building on a regular basis for meetings, exercise classes, ping pong, etc. Fees for the building are nominal. These fees are often waived for non-profit groups and community events. Every user must complete a Rental/Use Agreement whether or not they pay a fee. Contact the Town Clerk for details.
  • No alcohol use is permitted
  • The Town is not responsible for personal injuries or property damage sustained during an event
  • Event organizers are responsible for any damages to the building or grounds
  • We expect the building and grounds to look the same after an event as it did before an event
  • We cannot be a storehouse for equipment or special furniture, although some limited exceptions can be made for a fee
  • Building security is critical before, during, and after an event
  • Avoid excessive noise—there are neighbors nearby.
Town Building Audio Visual Equipment In 2015 the Town received a "Make a Difference" Grant from Moab's non-profit WabiSabi. The goal was to install permanent audio-visual equipment for the Community Center to support the highly successful programs provided by the Castle Valley Library, and to establish the Town Building as a focal center for Castle Valley and surrounding communities to gather for entertainment, arts, education, exercise classes, and more. With generous donations from the community, Wabisabi, and the Town, the Community Center is now fully equipped with a digital projector, Blu-ray player, sound system, and wall sized projector screen. The equipment will be available for programs offered at the Town Building; details can be arranged with the Town Clerk.

Grounds and Pavilion Area Group events on the Town Building grounds or in the pavilion area should be pre-reserved, and the organizer must complete a Rental/Use Agreement. Small private groups may use the outdoor tables and barbeques with no fee or reservation. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a public pit toilet next to the basketball court. Please make sure to clean the area and carry away all trash. All events should end before 10:00PM to respect the neighbors.

Basketball and Pickleball Court Ready to use! Court is unlighted.
