The Hazard Mitigation Committee was formed to create a local Hazard Mitigation Plan for Castle Valley.  The plan involves collecting a history of past disasters, estimate approximate loss, and form strategies to prevent and mitigate effects of possible hazards. 

The mitigation process is outlined by FEMA and will better prepare our community for disasters. Creating this plan shows our responsibility to our community and is looked upon favorably when seeking assistance or funding for mitigation efforts or in times of disasters. This Plan is required to be updated every 5 years.

When an update is required the Hazard Mitigation Committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Town Hall at 6:00pm.  Everyone is invited, and welcome.

FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)

In order for our community to participate in the NFIP, FEMA requires a close form of the following Ordinance and Resolution to be adopted by the Town.

At this time the Town has been advised not to join the program until there is a FEMA map for Castle Valley.
