In 1991, a resident of Castle Valley anonymously established a scholarship program for graduating seniors going to an accredited college or vocational school. Today, anyone residing in Castle Valley that would like to receive a higher education is eligible to apply for the scholarship.

In the early years, the donor contributed $1,000 annually for the scholarship, but that was increased to $2,000 per year in 1999. And in 2017 it was kindly increased  to $2500. And in 2022 it was kindly increased agian to $3000.

Since 1991,over $35,000 has been contributed to over 30 recipients.

Applications for the scholarship are sought in the summer and are awarded by the Town Council at their regular June meeting.  

To apply for the Castle Valley Scholarship submit the following to the Town Clerk by the beginning of June:

~ A letter of interest
~ Proof of Acceptance at an accredited college or vocational school 
~ Proof of registration

The Scholarship/s will be Awarded by the Town Council at the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting in June (usually the 3rd Wednesday of the month) at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.
